AHEM--- A Toyota pulled the space shuttle.
After over 45,000 miles towing a travel trailer (the sales person probably can't claim that), size does matter! Choose one of the three major brand pick ups in at least a 3/4 ton version. Pull out your wallet and purchase a major brand WDH, not a cheap one (ask me how I know).
With regard to engine type; We run a Ram 6.4 with 373 gears, towing a 10,000 trailer. The engine is not a speed ball, but does what it needs to do. The mileage is 8 MPG towing overall at 65 MPH. I chose a gasser due to the fact we drive around town quite a lot, it doesn't seem to require the maint that a diesel does, oil changes are cheaper, and no DEF. Our truck is a 2016, and has a six speed trans, where the new Rams come with an 8 speed, and that combo might be better for towing.
That's a formable sized trailer you have, set it up right and enjoy.
