I would also suggest at least a 250/2500. If you are going with a Ford and buying new get a F-350 SRW they are only a thousand of so more than the F-250.
I had a 14 F-250 with the 6.2 gas motor pulling the trailer in my signature and now my 16 F-350 with the 6.7 Diesel. The 6.2 is a great engine and pulled the trailer ok, but the diesel pulls it much better. I will not go back to a gas engine.
