No way would I ever recommend pulling that trailer with a half ton truck, tounge weight alone would eat up the payload.

But, any of the newer 2500-250 series trucks would pull it fine.

Wife and I really like the new Outbacks,ended up with one.

You have the correct idea, get the F-250 or a F-350 SRW with the 6.7 diesel. What other nonsense did the dealer suggest?

Such truth, although I talk my DW into moving from 40' conversion to 12" Truck Camper.
City helped me quite a bit as they would not allow parking the bus on our property, when TC passed the inspection.
Pickups generally are lousy Tow Vehicles due to long overhang and it is long rear overhang who amplifies the tail swag and I doubt you can pull your TT without WD and anti-sway bars.
So going for short bed, or big SUV might give you better choice.
In the past I used Mercedes ML as TV for my 25' TT and I was beating Hondas on freeways. Never had to use any bars, but if you look on side picture of ML - its rear overhang is as short as on tow trucks.

That said, at the size TT you have, I think you should only consider a 250 for starters, better yet a 350. Single rear wheels.
While on paper, the F150 with Max Tow Package meets the weight specs. Many would say you could more easily get "the tail wagging the dog" with that size trailer. Yes, it would tow that TT but comfortably so?
One spec few reference is maximum recommended frontal area. For all F150 TT towing, it's 60 sq. ft.
With some bargaining, you can often get the next level size truck for not much more, comparatively, than the maxed out for towing lesser vehicle, according to most here.
You're in a good RVing position. You've planned to buy a truck, and will already have the TT to spec out the truck with.
Ask the dealer to hook up and test drive that TT with the F150. See the reaction ;)

My Reflection is 10995 GVWR and I pull it with a F250 diesel and get about 10-12, I live in Colorado and travel at attitude. I would never pull a trailer that size without a diesel. I swap the factory fuel tank out and put in a Titan 50 gal.JMHO

not the f150 . but the f250 would do it. get the right tow package an hitch set up. p.s dealer sales people don,t no **** about trucks.

Ya the Eco will pull it, just be ready to visit every gas station between your house and where you're going camping. My son had one and pulled a 17' aluminum cargo trailer with 2 snowmobiles and some other things, definitely not over 4500lbs and at best got around 8-9 mpg and that was trying to keep his foot off the go pedal. As soon as he got into hilly country, you could actually see the gas gauge move. I'm not a Ford fan, don't like the seating, I had a 2004 2500 with the Cummins, awesome tow machine.

Welcome, congratulations! How much weight will you be carrying in the truck? People, stuff, hitch etc.? An F150 seems a little small, light.
