Most would understand you by phonetics alone, better to try than no at all. :)
I've been told I can say the wording proper enough that folks understand what I say. At least per a client that used to teach, and a France born fellow I teach skiing with. "Speeling" on the other hand, I should probably find an online translator.
my teacher said, if one remembers anything from the class, at least these three sentences! She had told here 3-5 year old at the time this when they were in France.
