Sorry Tory but that just does float, I have never not one time posted the hatred like you do pal. I have never disrespected anyone's new truck purchase. But yet you do it time and time again. Facts are facts Troy you are a little boy trapped in a mans body.

Funny how most of you claim I'm the one that doesn't have the facts but the fact is Ford has a very good truck now the safest (2016 and one 2015) on the road. There flaw is making a truck bed out of a aluminum to save weight. My guess is they could not make the inside of the bed out of steel with aluminum outer fenders cost effectively do to the dissimilar metals. So they compromised their trucks integrity just to save a few pounds. It's now going to come back to bit them in the butt and they are going to have to address it or they WILL loss sales.

The sad part is some of their fanboys just can't admit it. My truck may have the lowest payload at 1050 some pounds but it's going to take a lot more than a empty tool to punch a hole in the the bed. BTW there are guys out there tow 9000#+ RV's both TT's and Fiver's with this weakling truck.

My 14 year old GM has a several accidental dents in the bed, but never been in a wreck. Guess if it was made from aluminum I'd be looking for a new truck. Not every one can afford a new truck every couple of years or so.

This is about tensile strength...anyone ever take a college materials
class? Or Strength of Materials class? Tensile Strength is its elongation
strength, generally speaking

Meaning stretch, as in being hit with those building block...that dented
it...that stretched it beyond it's plasticity point (ability to return
to original shape) and into yield (won't return) and beyond to crack

Aluminum
6061-T6 is what am guessing the family of which the Ford bed is made from
Has an Ultimate Tensile Strength number of 300 MPa. There are higher, but
exotic ($$$$) and that is what I'd consider 'military grade'...
I've designed stuff for the military and even black badge...6061-T6 is
used, but the 'good' stuff that is real military grade is way stronger
and much, much, much more expensive that 6061-T6

Steel
Mud hen (mild) 1090 is 841 MPa and they also have higher alloys and again
exotic ($$$$$$$)


Also, don't know where you folks buy your building materials from, but
in my area...they ALL dump them into the bed just like that video

Or some times if you buy it by the pallet, they load it with a fork
lift. Pallet with wire cage to hold cobble stones/etc in and are
pre-weighed

There is a difference between Current MPG and Average MPG. I think someone was having fun! Off throttle, current can go way up. Chris

I've said it before and I'll say it again:
A Prius gets great gas mileage as well but it can't tow a 9000lb FW EITHER.

Your argument every time turns to "but look at my great MPG". That's great if the machine can perform the necessary task but it just won't work for many of us.

Your payload is what again?
And tow rating? Isn't that about 8700lbs with 60sq.ft frontal area?
