My first TC rig was a fairly light Lance 835 on an F250 diesel. Truck handled the weight OK, but I never felt in adequate control.
I "graduated" to the current F350 CC and a heavier camper (Lance 981Max) and although the TC was at least 1k heavier, the combo was far more stable and comfortable.
Since then I've used that truck to pull a heavy 27'6" TT and now have another camper for it. I feel at my age I'll never need a different truck, no matter what I decide in terms of the RV.
The advice you've already gotten here makes sense: Decide on the camper then the truck but remember circumstances change and you may decide later that you want a different TC, or like me a large TT. Replacing both the RV and the TV can be expensive. A little extra truck initially may save you. Yeh the truck is big (25' long) but you'll get used to that quickly.
