I tried drive way markers at first but the PVC painted orange is more visible to say a car cutting back into my lane too quickly. Iowa 80 sells some lighted wands for big rigs that would be even better.
I like you suggestion of a higher mounted carrier Wayne. Brings to mind the electric wheel chair lift I have in my 'someday I will use that' pile. Power lift to get the gen up higher.
