i dont know i checked them the day before when i was greasing up all the front end parts. i did not see any bad joint. they were solid. but since they are the non greaseable anything can happen.
since i have had this new trans its been heating up. but the prob i have is the grind just before the vibration then the bang. not sure what caused that. i am pretty good at finding issues but, i actually think the transfer case seized up. but we will know more today or tomorrow when they tear into it.
i will keep you informed of what is happening.
Things can happen fast at 60 & 70 MPH on the freeway. I've seen people burn an axle into and wheel come off on the 72 Fords and say they never heard a thing. That's going to be one big expense. Sure ruined a good trip.
