Just purchased a set of Goodyear Endurance tires

I just replaced the tires on my 2005 Rockwood 21FB. The new tires are ST205-75R14 load range D (my old Marathons were load range C).
The Endurance line of tires are Made in America, speed rated at 87 mph, and have a heavier load range in all sizes.

The Endurance tires look like a good alternative to the china bombs.
  • I saw these tires in the August Trailer Life - although I bought the Maxxis last year, I would have gone with these had I known about them.
  • Me too... Although I didn't get as good a deal as ktmrfs. Mine, after rebate was about $480. Same sizes and Load Range.

Me too ... trailer followed me home today with a set of new shoes - Goodyear Endurance ST205/75 R14. :B
  • I'm looking to join the "overkill club" myself. Ordered up a set of Endurance 205/75/15 LRD this on-line ordering of tires to be mounted at a local Good Year dealer via appointment is a bit new to me, but I'm trying it out anyway.

Me too. So far, so good -- one trip of 700 miles, another of 1600 miles, rough freeways, very hot weather, no problems.

I should add that I have a little trailer and these are Endurance, Load Range D. (Overkill is my middle name!)

I'm in the overkill club too.......pulling my little trailer with a one ton V-10 crew cab.
  • LOL profdant139..........My next truck and trailer will be closer to the size you have. I'm ready to get away from the crowds too. I've been following your blog for several years, thank you for the great pictures and stories. My next combo will be a regular cab full size 4x4 truck and a smaller travel trailer.

  • The tire folks have seen a market opportunity for TT tires with a higher speed rating. Carlisle's in the 70 mph range and now Goodyear in the 80 mph. range.

The tread and compound changes are also said to add to the tire performance.

My guess is the projected market for 500,000 TT and 5vers this years, plus the younger demographics moving into the RV market, help drive the decision.

US manufacturing makes for easier distribution and labor costs play less of a roll in the overall price of a lower volume, premium priced tire.

Now comes the real test, putting these tires on the road, in the hands of the consumer.

It sounds like a good move for the consumer. :)
  • I did likewise a few weeks ago. My set of Maxxis had worn out, 25K miles or so. With Discount tire rebates and Goodyear rebates, a set of 4 225/75-15 LRE were $370 mounted and balanced, actually less than equivalent Maxxis tires.
