It should be looked at as an entertainment expense. Figure out what it really costs, including cost of money (what return would you get if invested) and decide if it’s worth it.
Think of the other things you could do with the same money. I have a niece (married, one child) that seems to take extravagant vacations. Scuba trips to Bonaire. Renting condos in Florida for two weeks. Etc.
Paid off cars, house, don’t drink, don’t smoke, don’t club, both have kept up in tech classes in their field.
I have talked about rv’ing and they say it’s not worth the expense.
