Kawasaki GA3200A Generator

Have a good friend who has a Kawasaki GA3200A generator. He has asked me is it suitable to run his 13,500 airconditoner on his new travel trailer.

Anyone have this generator and does it operate your airconditioner satisfactorily? Thanks in advance.
  • Looking that generator up, it appears to be a 240 volt generator, not a 120 volt inverter generator, which means that it really only puts out 1600 watts on each 120 volt leg, so the answer is yes, BUT NOT WITHOUT A STEP DOWN TRANSFORMER. If he springs for a 2:1 step down transformer of suitable wattage and plugs that into the 240 volt socket, it'll work. If he just plugs his RV into one of the 120 volt sockets, then no, it won't work.
  • If it's putting out a legitimate 3200W as the model number implies, then it should. My 3000 runs mine fine. If it has idle control, it may not start at idle. You may have to wick up the throttle to get the AC to start smoothly. That's what I have to do, anyhow.
