Kayak Trailer
So....I've been pondering this question for some time: should I carry our two kayaks on the TC roof or get a small purpose-built kayak trailer? Both solutions have pros and cons.
I like the idea of carrying the kayaks on the TC roof because I don't have to tow a trailer, maneuver a trailer, consider how to park with a trailer, worry about rough roads and a bouncing trailer, and back up the trailer.
On the other hand, I like the idea of carrying the kayaks on a purpose-built trailer because I don't have to get up on the roof to load/unload the kaysks, block my solar panel with one kayak when it's tied down on the roof, and perhaps have to think about unloading them to crank the roof up.
I already have a set of Yakima crossbars and mounts to accomplish the rooftop carrying scheme. Just haven't committed to it yet.
I'm considering the Malone kayak trailer and this one too.
I'd appreciate thoughts, comments, and insight.
Merry Christmas to all.
