Around here the police keep the bikes in a little pen with a lock on the door. If you want a bike you just go ask the dispatcher to unlock the door for you and then pick one out and say that it's yours. They give you the bike and you ride it home. Doens't have to be yours of course you just have to say that it is.
Doesn't matter anyway. The kid these days are all so spoiled that if there bike gets stolen there parents get them a new one the same day. The police usually end up throwing all the bikes in the pen away once a year because it gets too full.
There are 4500 people in town.
