There are a couple of small buttons on the top of the frig, assuming it's new or relatively new, and if you turn it to on and then set it to "Auto", it will switch over to propane when you unplug from shore power. It will take a few seconds/minutes to change. As soon as you get to the campground and plug back in, it'll go back to electric. Hope that helps. While you're on the road you can keep the propane going by just leaving it at "Auto" and it'll stay cold the whole time. BTW, it will take several hours for it to cool the first time, so don't worry if it doesn't seem like a home frig. Congrats on the TT.
