Keystone Outback 210RS

I have been researching TT's and like this model because it is only 23ish feet while towing and then lengthens with a slide at the rear. I really wanted a slide for the width as well, but this really put us in the longer-than-we-wanted category as far as what this company manufactures.

The 2014 model's MSRP is $32,000. The oldest used one I could find is 2009 for around $14,000 at an RV dealership. I did see one from a private party - probably on Craigslist, for $10,000.

Our original plan was to purchase an older TT for around $5000 or so. But the more I look, the more I want. :R It is getting more expensive every day as I peruse.

Anyone have experience with this model?

    check out outbackers.com

there are lots of folks there that have the rear slide outbacks.
  • We had an '07 Outback 21RS that we bought used in 2009 and used for 2 seasons before trading up to our current TT. We liked our 21RS and never had a single issue with it during the 2 years we owned it, but we wanted more space. The floorplan is not unique to the Outback, and several other manufacturers make the same model. We bought ours from a private seller for $12k in 2009 and traded it for $10500 in 2011. You may be able to possibly find an older one in the $5k range (not familiar with your local market). Our local CL currently has an '07 listed for $10500. As the previous poster mentioned, Outbackers.com is a good reference source to ask specific questions of Outback owners. Good luck in your search!
  • (choke) MSRP $32K for a 210RS?! I "over-paid" for my new, fully-optioned 2011 Outback 250RS @ $23,400. A quick check of rvtrader.com shows some new-stock 2013's priced at $22,900. Suggestion if you go the route...if you can get a year/model with the rounded fiberglas frontend cap as opposed to the laminated "rolled-down" style...avoids the ubiquitous "de-lam" problem. And outbackers.com is a good resource.
  • We started with a Keystone Outback 21RS. I really didn't like the bed being on a slide, had some people on outbackers.com fighting the rails the bed rode on pulling from the ceiling. Supposedly it was reinforced in newer models. The other downside was the small gray and black tanks compared to other non-outback models, the older outbacks actually had larger holding tanks.

Otherwise we never had any issues with ours, the older models bed is a west/east which for us taller folks is a nightmare to sleep in.

I don't think anyone actually pays MSRP, but I needed a point of reference. Knowing how much you paid for yours new is good information, though.
  • You can check out the Forest River ROO/Shamrock models in the same configuration.

I had a Shamrock 21RS I pulled with a 4Runner for 5 years. Traded up both the tow vehicle and trailer.
