Keystone Springdale Summerland

We are getting ready to buy a Springdale Summerland TT. I really love this camper but saw a Facebook page devoted to Keystone campers and their bad quality. Does anyone have any experience with this brand of camper?

Thanks
  • Thank you everyone for your input. It's not going to be on the road much. We are leaving it at the lake so things shouldn't get rattled around much.
  • I've owned 2 Keystone trailers (2008 Springdale and 2015 Bullet Premier) and haven't really had any issues. I ended up with a leak in my old one, but that was due to my lack of maintenance....lesson learned. The new one we've had a year so far and we haven't had one issue yet (knock on wood).

There are definitely some small tings that I shake my head at due to crappy installation/construction/materials, but that's going to happen in almost any RV at any price point.

Overall, I think the trailers I've owned have been a good bang for the buck and we absolutely love our new Keystone trailer.
  • My in-laws have Keystone and will not buy another. Very dis-satisfied
  • It's an entry level trailer. Built about the same as the others. If you take care of it and don't abuse it, it could last a very long time. Most of the components are the same ones everybody else uses.

  • I have a Summerland 2980 BHGS, and I assume like all trailers we had to have some things fixed, Dinning table, roof leaked at corner, some kitchen cabinet drawers didn't shut correctly and replaced a fuse on the slide out. Other than that it works for us, but it is our first trailer and I have no other trailer to compare it to, other than an older popup.

  • I have a keystone montana and it is a 2009 and doing just fine thank you. true mine is high end and springdale is entry level.
  • We have a Keystone Bullet and love the trailer. I think the problem with Keystone is the customer support. Our roof needed to be resealed less than 12 months after purchase (it gets really hot in Redding) and Keystone would not cover it since it was past 90 days after purchase. But the trailer itself seems well built and we love it.
  • As long as you take care of it and don't abuse it, you should be fine. Many entry level RV's remain in service for many years.
If you like the floorplan and it does not leak, you're 2 steps ahead of the guy behind you. When the day comes to retire it, you can smile at the fact that you didn't blow the entire 401K on it.
  • We have a 2013 springdale. No problems other than an incorrectly wired entry light. The springdale is an entry level trailer, so expect some light and cheap construction. We came from an older Born Free motorhome, which was very well built and solid. The springdale is made with practically paper thin materials, but you will find most, if not all, entry level trailers are of similar construction.
That said, ours is layed out well, and we have not had any real problems.
