Weight is weight. It's all relevant. Only difference between a 40' 5'er and pallets of bricks is the wind drag. They would likely get the same results either way.
My 37', 15,000 lb toy hauler pulls much harder at highway speed than an 18,000 lb gooseneck. This I know from experience. I think the comparison is fair and agree that in the real world many more people are towing a high profile trailer over mountain passes than are towing low profile loads like a gooseneck. Although I will agree that the difference between the trucks should show regardless of the trailer as long as they are towing the same thing.
