My 37', 15,000 lb toy hauler pulls much harder at highway speed than an 18,000 lb gooseneck. This I know from experience. I think the comparison is fair and agree that in the real world many more people are towing a high profile trailer over mountain passes than are towing low profile loads like a gooseneck. Although I will agree that the difference between the trucks should show regardless of the trailer as long as they are towing the same thing.
Yep going down a highway it's all about aerodynamics, going up a hill is where the weight comes in!
