Hears an idea, why not test a 3500 against an F350? :h
No....no your not. Ford's advertising magazine knew the F-350 couldn't out tow the Ram so they had to bring in a ringer. They pulled the same garbage when they tested a 2015 Ford F-350 not in production truck against the 2014 GM and Ram 3500 trucks.
PT.com is a joke IMO

Weight is weight. It's all relevant. Only difference between a 40' 5'er and pallets of bricks is the wind drag. They would likely get the same results either way.
My 37', 15,000 lb toy hauler pulls much harder at highway speed than an 18,000 lb gooseneck. This I know from experience. I think the comparison is fair and agree that in the real world many more people are towing a high profile trailer over mountain passes than are towing low profile loads like a gooseneck. Although I will agree that the difference between the trucks should show regardless of the trailer as long as they are towing the same thing.
Yep going down a highway it's all about aerodynamics, going up a hill is where the weight comes in! - hone_eagleExplorer

I dont think the F350 can pull that much. That is why they are using the F450. I could be wrong though.
When I read the article it sounded more like an ad for the trailers then anything else. But that is just me.
Thought we all agreed ,that F250 -3500 -1/2 ton were all meaningless designations.
GVWR is king - larry_barnhartExplorer4.30 rear gear should win. Winning isn't everything.

- dodge_guyExplorer IIDo a test with a 20k lb 40ft. Toy Hauler/5`er then let us know! I don`t consider those trailers "monsters" either!
- mikeputcExplorerDifferent badges, identical GVWRs of 14K lbs.

N0 you are right. 3500 vs a 450 is comparing two different classes.
Maybe Ford is afraid of comparing their 350 to a 3500?
