Lots of people sell lots of things that aren't necessarily "satisfactory". It may be the only brand that is taking on new dealers. It may be the only brand that wasn't already being sold in the area. He may be able to mark them up more than other brands.
I don't have any experience with a Kipor but I have been around many Honda and Yamaha gen. over many years. They are extremely reliable, have great support if you ever do need it, and are nice and quiet. I've never seen any of the other brands offered at enough of a savings to take a chance.
