Don't the manufacturers have a quality control process that is followed? How can hardware be installed upside down?? Are the inspectors asleep at the wheel?
Don't they pressurize the water systems and test them at the factory?
According to the Dutchman manager who spoke to me, they do pressure test the water system. At least they are supposed to. Since this is the second water leak from the supply system in 3 days, it's clear that any pressure test was casual at best. Both times it appears to be a bad crimp on a PEX fitting.
Issues to date:
- Water supply leak discovered by dealer prior to delivery - bad connection (fixed).
- Improperly installed Shower door/pan, leaks -- recaulked by me.
- Improperly installed P-trap on kitchen sink (cross-threaded) - fixed by me.
- Supply pipe connection poorly crimped caused massive flooding below floor - fix in process Dutchman to send new belly cover (dealer slit the original to allow over 100 gallons of water in the belly to get out in order to tow the TT back to dealership.
All this before we have towed the TT an inch. Stay tuned.
