- tmartin000Explorer III have been touting how good these shocks are vs the over-priced gimmicky Rancho's I had 8 years ago. They softened up considerably after 3 years. Frankly, I pretty much left them on one setting anyway...so that could have been why they softened up.
So far, I'm on my second truck with these KYB's and love them. Robust, rugged and dependable after years of use on a truck/camper setup. Both campers are almost 5000 lbs too.
I paid about $50 a piece for them online and paid an hour labor to have them put on at a local tire store.
A no-brainer. Save the HUNDREDS over the other brands and put the $$$ toward a nice mod or two. - DWeikertExplorer II

Am I reading this wrong?
Probably not. shockwarehouse.com has them for my truck at $54.39 each ($217.56 set of 4), free shipping. That's also where I got mine a few years ago. - covered_wagonExplorerKYB Mono Max are expensive but they have advantages over other shocks. I think they are the best.
I paid $335 for all fours about 8 yrs ago. They are stiff but not aggressive. Stiil good on my truck.
Had the Ranchos before and would do the KYB's again. - KD4UPLExplorer IIWhen I bought 4 back in '11 Federated auto was running deal of buy 3 get the fourth free. I think they were around $75 each for the 3 maybe.
