Lake Lanier

Anyone know the best rv campgrounds around lake lanier.
  • There is many good campgrounds at lake Lanier, Bald Ridge Creek Campground & Ductett Mill are my favorites.
  • There is also Don Carter state park. While I've not camped there personally, i've heard it's nice from friend who have as well as reviews online. You can now do site specific reservations online.
  • I stayed at Bolding Mill COE in Gainesville,Ga. in October. Very clean nice park. Water, 50/30 amp electricity and no sewer. Dump stations.
  • I some times wonder what the word "Best " means to different people , price , view , location , condition ?
  • We like Sawnee USACE on the south end of the lake. Used to be one of the few to remain open all winter but apparently not this year(closed even before the shutdown). Most of the USACE ones close early and open late. Also, the shutdown may have closed all of them so you'll have to research it well.
