I have the tent option, it has never been a problem for us. That being said it does get hotter when deployed. We camped in Zion last summer at 112 and the A/c worked to keep us cool. Another down side is if you put it away wet you must reopen at home so it can dry out. For us the extra sleeping space far out weigh the negative issues.
