Lance backup camera brand?

Does anyone know what brand backup camera Lance uses and how good it is? I was wondering if it is worth ordering or if there is a better aftermarket option. I'd like one that works at night and has audio too. Thanks!

My new 2010 f150 truck came with one and I agree with the same features you are referring too...

My center console screen is at least 7-inches and camera view comes up when I go into reverse. The view has feet markers with increasing beep alarms if something is in the path.

In my case I can see my BALL MOUNT go under the trailer hitch on first try. Don't know how I have got along without one over all the years...

I would want all of these features if I was looking for an aftermarker rear camera setup...

I used to see alot of rear camera professional setups on EBAY that truckers use for around $400 - $500. I would want to mount my rear camera high up on the TC pointing down at an angle to reduce outside light source from flaring up your monitor screen. Something like this google photo

  • My 2012 truck camper came with the Perimeter View 7" digital video wireless system.

I'm not very pleased with it. The picture quality is poor. The picture is reversed, viewed left and right is wrong if you can follow what I mean. The audio is ok and there is no color.

I would not recommend this system. Hopefully Lance has replaced this brand with another.
  • Thanks guys! There are so many backup cameras online when I search for them that it's hard to know where to start.
RoyB, that looks like a nice setup in your truck. Wish I'd had that all the years we were towing our TT!

BillT, The Lance website does say that it is a color camera that they use now but they don't give much info on it. Good point on the reversed image. I'll have to keep that in mind when looking.
  • Voyager is the brand name Lance uses. Its a back up cam with audio.
  • It's still just your regular truck not a huge class A, just look in the mirrors, and through the back window, or get your captain to go out and guide

    No, get the camera.

Honestly, if you have never owned a vehicle with a back up camera, then you just don't know what you are missing.

???? Um, err :h check that. In fact, you know exactly what you are missing or have missed. :B

Not all of us have back windows or captains.
  • My Lance 981 Max was prewired for the Voyager camera.. Using their system made installation easy.. The couple of questions I had were promptly answered by their technician and I have been real happy with it..
  • Thanks for all the feedback!
We were debating on whether it was worth adding as an option from Lance or getting an aftermarket system and installing it ourselves.
I looked up Voyager and saw several models. Does the one that Lance uses have the 7 inch display?
WestCoast1969 , Thanks for that link. Looks like a very good price and there are lots of positive reviews.
