I have essentially the setup you are looking at (except the truck is a Ford) and have been very happy. The only issue is power going up long/steep hills at higher altitude. I might switch to diesel at some point, but will keep the AF990. This design has been around forever and it's obvious that they have tweaked it over the years to the point where everything is well built and thought out. I've had no problems with the slide mechanism. The only issue has been that it's really hard to get the fridge to light, but that has nothing to do with the AF brand.
