You should also look at some of the vnose travel trailers. The space they use over the top of the trailer tongue makes them bigger than the same size travel trailer. However, the tongue weight is quite a bit more and they are more prone to funky handling from the vnose design.
At the length of TT you are looking at, I HIGHLY recommend a premium hitch. With the nod going toward a Hensley Arrow or Propride. If not, then a reese dual cam or equivalent to tame that beast.
As long as the campground you choose has pull through sites and situated for rigs, you should be fine. A 40' motorhome with a 20' car in tow isn't going to be much different in length. Back in sites will work fine too, of course. I imagine you have sites pretty well figured out if you are on the road that much.
An advantage for a TT vs a fiver is the AC doesn't have near as much area to cool off (shorter ceiling). Should help in that texas heat.
