This is a problem.. Shows in the book 8700 lb tow rating.. The big issue is payload.

Your best to get that truck to a scale with all the passengers inside and camping gear you may take with you..Make sure to check with full tank of fuel..

You may be suprised what little payload you have left for tongue weight.

Is there a sticker on the door of that expedition with a payload capacity?

You are going to be in a 1/2 ton situation like me where my 541 lb tongue weight camper I bought turned into 740lb with all my stuff in it.. Payload on my truck is 1450.. That leaves me with 710 lbs to load my truck with people and stuff

( I weighed my truck with me and full tank and had 1450lbs left for payload)

wife 134
son 225
son2 125

That leaves me 226 for stuff..

Gen 63
solar panel 43
4 crates hoses and stuff 100

That leaves 20 lbs..

( But I am sure I am over weight. Saving grace is the WD hitch that takes some weight off rear axle..)

Just letting you know..

Because if you pick a camper with a 700 lbs TW to start, your going to be screwed and not happy..

Id probably go with the coachmen because its 1000 lbs ligher then all out there. In fact that camper has the same specs as my smaller none slide catilina.

I woulndnt want to tow any heavier.. Stay as light as you can. You can move better, travel a bit faster without white knuckles ect

The coachman has a 2118 cargo capacity. Thats why I like them.. you can put a lot of stuff in them...
