For anyone interested i thought i would post a review on this electric heater i bought last week. Wife and i were camping in Virginia with night time temps down to a reasonable 45 degrees so i thought i would buy this unit to try out instead of firing up the gas furnace. without a heat source the camper would have been about 55 degrees based on my experience checking temps in the camper at home. We have a 33 foot wildwood with bedroom in nose of camper. The heater has an adjustable digital thermostat and it can be set to oscillate in different angles. Wife and I both rather sleep on the cooler not warmer temps so I set it on 68 degrees. i had a digital thermometers placed in the living room and bedroom. During the night the heater kept the entire camper between 66 and 68 degrees. In the morning i cranked up the gas furnace to warm the camper up more when we took showers. I would not depend on it for an only heat source but for temps down to 45 degrees i was happy with the way it worked and i saved my propane and used the campground electricity. Unusual for a manufacturer or retailer to actually post a BTU rating for an electric heater when the vast majority of so-called "1500 watt" electric heaters are anything but. :M I've got several and only one is even remotely close to drawing a full 1500 watts, our favorite (which is also supremely quiet) draws just 900 watts on high - I know because I've measured it with my Kill-a-Watt energy meter. It would be interesting if you too could measure the actual draw of this particular heater to confirm it actually does meet it's rated draw and therefore it's rated heat output. If so, no wonder it worked well for you.

When I had my 30' trailer with slide outs, I used three electric heaters to exclusively heat my trailer. The coldest temperatures was high teens, but I was warm. There was enough heat loss through the floor to the insulted under belly that I had no problem with freezing pipes. I had 50 amp electric.

We used an oil filled radiator in our toy hauler with the gas furnace set slightly lower. When the radiator could not keep up, the furnace kicked in. This saved on propane when we were on hookups. We now have a heated fireplace in our truck camper and do the same but not no longer need to pull out an auxiliary heater since it is built in.

I bought two of these units this year. While I like the simplicity and heating power of these units, they give off an odd metallic smell after they have been on a while. Returning one of the units next week. The other unit I probably cannot return because it's been in the box a while. Recommendations on other heating units ?

I used a small ceramic heater on a recent trip. Night temps were in the 40s. Worked quite well at keeping the camper warm. It's not super quiet, so I turned the A/C on fan to drown out the noise of the heater. We tend to like to sleep with white noise though.

I have a couple of these small cube heaters, about 8" all sides.

One is 600/1200W, the other one is 350/700W. I like the smaller one for days when it's just a bit chilly all day long, like maybe 50 degrees or so and I need just a small amount of heat to stay comfortable. The lower powered one is a Vornado ( got it at best buy ) and is very quiet. So quiet I sometimes have to look at it's light to see if it's on.

I can generally meet all of my heating needs even down to 10 degrees or so with these electric heaters. I ran a separate circuit into the trailer so I can plug into the other ( 20A ) outlet on many CG pedestals. I run the electric heater on that line.

We used a previous model of the Lasko heater for about seven years in both our Surveyor and our Avenger travel trailer. The older heater had no digital readout and it kept both trailers reasonably comfortable. The problem with that heater was setting the dial at the same position did not mean you would get the same results, there could be temperature swings as much as 5 degrees +/-. We now have a Bon-Air ceramic heater,three years now. The digital thermostat has always been accurate with in 2 degrees.

I second the Vornado. Have had one for years and it is quiet and effective. I can't remember what model it is off hand but it has 3 wattage settings, 900,1200 and 1500. The fan moves the air quite well and we have heated our former 30 ft. trailer using only that down to temps in the mid 30's. Using the electric heater I find the condensation problem to be lessened.

We use the DeLonghi portable oil filled radiator. At 1,200 watts it won't heat the trailer to 68 but heats it enough to keep the bite off. In the morning a couple of minutes with the propane heater brings the trailer up to temperature. The heater is silent and I don't have any nagging feelings of fire hazard. At only 14" high it fits unobtrusively in our trailer and stows easily in the front compartment. Kind of heavy though.

I'm now using a silent baseboard style with no fan ...no noise. Last year it worked very well for us. Amazon has it .

To OP....glad the heater works well for you! It is a much better choice than the heat strip, from your other thread. You would have tired of the luke warm air, and the AC fan noise, while using the RV.
