Impromptu camping trips are great. One/two nighters is why I love having the trailer at home, fully loaded and ready to go. Grab a bag of clothes, couple steaks, dogs, etc... from the freezer. OUTTA HERE.
Helps that the kids are grown, we can pack ourselves and run. Still, even when the kids were young, and the tent had to be set-up, we kept everything in totes so we could grap a tote, cooler, and bail out on a moment's notice.
Seems kinda hectic when trying to get there, but 15 minutes after setting up----vacation mode. We have several places within an hour of home, that are perfect for the weekend get-a-way.
