It must be noted that nothing will seal a leak if you neglect to CLEAN the place you put "stuff" to do the sealing. No matter what you use, it must be on a clean surface, or it too will leak. Scrape off any loose crud, wash with soap and water, rinse the heck out of it, and wipe down with 90% rubbing alcohol, then be sure it is bone dry before you put that "stuff" on. At which point, whatever you use should work like a charm.
My theory is that anybody who's tried to stop such leaks and failed, simply didn't have a clean surface to start with.
