Leaving potable antifreeze in the system

I haven't used my TC since last fall so now it's been a year since I filled the water system with potable antifreeze. And I have no plans to use the TC until next spring at the earliest....when a Covid-19 vaccine is available.

Do I need to change it since it's a year old?

  • If you haven't diluted it or used it then no, the antifreeze should be fine for another winter.
  • The only potable antifreeze I know of keeps for many years, comes in 80-150 proof, and sometimes gets better with age. The pink winterizing solution you are referring to is sometimes captured after each season and used over and over again.
I am sure you will be OK.
