Some LEDs have built in electronic regulators which tend to emit a lot of radio interference (RFI) which often interferes with TV and radio signals..
That tends to blank out the screen but not power off the TV.. but if you mean the TV is powering off then the alternate possibility is the LED light is emitting light way past the visible light and into Infrared which your TV remotes work in..
LED lights are a hit or miss type of thing, some work and some don't.. Some interfere and some don't..
Quality is all over the map and depending on where you got them from you most likely will end up tossing them out and buying some from a more reputable source..
