By the same token, we wonder how people can live in places that have 3 times the cost of living that we do or 6-7 months of heat and humidity a year! Its all relative.
there are tons of places in California that aren't 3 times your cost of living. just stay out of the crowded places.
now taxes and regulations are another thing!:M
Okay, we have the highest taxes in the country. And Syracuse is the snowiest city in the country. And I've still got a foot of the stuff in my yard. We also have a near total lack of hurricanes, wildfires, tornadoes, earthquakes, water moccasins, giant, man-eating palmetto bugs or mile after mile after mile of stupefying, featureless flat. Plus the Adirondacks. Oh, and black flies. Oops.
