- tinstartrvlrExplorerI liked the 6.7 Very strong quiet motor, and had no problems with it. I no longer have it tho because it was more truck than I needed and I got tired of the maintenance issues and costs.
- newman_fulltimeExplorer IIis there candy inside this horse?
- RedwoodcamperExplorerI'd wait for the next gen ram. Just my opinion. The cord is a nice truck. It is a bit of a gamble. Many people don't have problems, but those who do have problems out of warranty or if warranty denies claim are in a world of hurt.
- pennysmom09ExplorerWe have a 2012 F350 6.7. We've driven/towed out west and back and snowbird in Florida, and use it for our daily trip runner.. With regular maintenance we have had no problems. Love it and rides comfortably when not towing.
- alexleblancExplorerthe 6.7 issues that were mostly on early 2011 6.7 have all been fixed with updated and the current 6.7 has proven to be the best Diesel Ford has produced since the 7.3. There is like anything a possibility of issues in your fuel is contaminated and this gets blown out of proportion all the time by many folks here and elsewhere - bottom line don't fuel up in shady gas stations and keep receipts when you fuel in case it does happen to you.
I'm on my second 6.7 and have yet to run into any issues that are drivetrain related - just the usual wear items that need to be addressed. - Dennis12ExplorerI have 3 new 6.7'S with automatic trans in my concrete construction company and they always have 3 to 4 ton on a trailer behind them. 70K on one 112K on another. I can not say enough good about them. You'll never be sorry.
- BedlamModeratorI suggest waiting until all the 2018 models are out and driving your options from the big 3. Each one will do the job, but there will be one that fits you better than the others. It may fit better in the wallet, it may have more comfortable seats, the controls may be more intuitive or the truck may handle better. I don't think you can make a wrong choice right now and subjectivity can be your guide.
I went from a Ford to a Ram, not because I was unhappy with my last truck but because the Ram offered more value this round with the options I wanted. GM didn't have an offering I wanted and missed out on a sale. Like you, I keep my vehicles for a longer period of time - The platforms and power trains change over that time, so you need to approach this purchase knowing these vehicles are not the same ones you experienced in the past. - ShinerBockExplorerOnly few things that would have me a little worried would be the CP4 fuel system(but that is nothing that proper maintenance and maybe some lubrication additives every now and then can't avoid) and the plastic inter-cooler pipe. The diesel mechanic that my father in law uses for his 2003 Powerstroke has said he replaces more then a handful of these every summer due to the south Texas heat. This may not be an issue for most, but you might want to consider it depending where you are from in Texas. Luckily H&S has a fix for it.

I am not sure if this is the same for the new 2017 trucks. Other then that, solid engine and trans. - ducksquasherExplorerWhen are the next generation Rams supposed to be out?
