First "tow vehicle". We bought the TT before we bought a more suitable "family truck":
1987 F350 mason body dump truck - 460ci, 4 barrel carb, 4 speed creeper gear manual, 4.10 rear end. Air conditioning? nope. Power windows? nope. Yes, that is a leaf rake on the side of it. If needed, we could haul one heck of a lot of "campfire wood", lol!
We went on 3-4 trips using that truck before we bought a pickup truck that could haul the family. The looks we got pulling into some of the "nicer" campgrounds were rather funny. I still use that truck today for work.
FWIW - we see lots of work trucks pulling campers in our CG stays. We don't give then weird looks.
Yea, I was being a little facetious. Although it was great hanging wet towels and bathing suits all over the wooden sides... and the leaf rakes did add to the ambiance.
I chuckle with all the threads about fuel mileage... That truck averages 7.5 mpg - no matter if empty, full, highway, local roads, towing or not.
