Impacts are noisy and their power is not needed for this task.I'd agree with you except for the noise part. These small cordless impact drivers aren't noisy. The hammer inside probably won't even strike the anvil twisting down a stabilizer.
Cordless impact drivers are one of those tools that come along with better technology and one day, after using one, you'll say, "Why didn't I have one of these earlier?". I can't hardly fasten a screw without one, lol. At one time, Rigid was the strongest in the 18V lithium class. I've used mine for lugnuts but it won't break loose anything over, say, 100 PSI. If I was using an electric impact to replace an air impact, I'd opt for a 1/2" corded tool.
For the OP, any battery powered cordless drill will do the job. If he was a real DIY engineer, he could buy a couple of 12V motors and install them with switches. It seems like over-kill to me.
