Leveling materials

What do people use to put under their tongue jack if they need more elevation? I have seen the camco style stacking blocks but it says you can only stack 4 high. What if you need more elevation? What other materials work the best?
  • There's been a few times I thought about putting my son-in-law's head under there...

    ;)
  • We use a railroad tie that is cut into a cube, about a 6x6 square. We thought about moving to a few Lynx Leveler squares, but they cost money and the railroad tie was free.
  • We stack higher than 4x and it works fine. Just as stable, they interlock. The bottom is a solid pad, so it does not sink in soft ground.

  • We put up a post and beam "barn" that we use for a garage about 15 years ago. I still use a few 4X 6 scraps left over. They were in the TTs now in the MH. If they ever go bad I will find new ones.
  • I use a 4x stack of 2"x 8" pieces screwed together anytime the trailer is sitting on a level or tongue high campsite, a single piece of 3/4" plywood when it's on a tongue low site.
