Here’s some food for thought:
Why is it that some people think you shouldn’t lift a trailer with scissor jacks because it may twist or damage the frame (even if the jacks are EVENLY distributed).
But it’s ok for the trailer to BOUNCE all over the highway and the weight is distributed on just a couple of axles. :h
If someone’s frame is that delicate, maybe they should be looking for another trailer.
Just saying. ;)
That is exactly the point I'm trying to make. It is safe on my trailer, to level with the jacks on one side, to at least 2" of lift. I have lifted the wheels off the ground using only one jack and the trailer did not collapse into a pile of rubble. I also raised it completely off the ground using all six jacks and it was level, straight, and stable.
No flaming here. But I'm not gonna reccommend that anyone do such an experiment.
Although I share your view that a TTs frame should be stronger than the fine china that some here seem to believe.....Doing a extreme test just to see if it will pass it is taking a big chance.
What if the TT fails? You won't get a do over. The damage will be done.
It only takes once, as this is not a cumulative type of damage. And not all TTs will pass such a extreme test.
putting 6 jacks on was a really good move....Your test..Well I suppose that since your particular TT passed it that you will think it was a great idea as well....Would you feel the same way if you had basically ruined your TT???:@
