After some of my brothers and a sister moved out, Mom And Dad sold the Pupup that slept 8, cause there was only three kids left at home and they wanted a hard sided trailer. They bought a 20' trailer. Table slept two, couch slept two, bed folded down over the couch that slept two. Five people in a 20 footer?????? Before slide outs, and bunk houses???? The old man just didn't have a problem telling us to sit down and shut up, or go outside and play in the rain---times they were different.
It all depends on whether you plan to live INSIDE, or if you need a place to sleep. I have a 19' for me the wife and dog, but on MAN TRIPS we have had three grown men sleep in there.
