It really is amazing to think back a generation. Tent camping for the most part. The RVs have really gotten to almost ridiculous with the "creature comforts". But I'll be the first in line to buy one :)

"Comfortable" for "Dad" isn't ALWAYS a "bigger rig" and you can only get a small amount more of "creature comforts" in a rig only a few feet longer..

Upsizing madness takes over very quickly and you most likely will regret it down the road..

Kids grow up then move on.. A few might want to continue camping with you but with their own rig..

I hear you about being comfortable, my own family we started in a 20FT TT, honestly it was pretty nice size for only the three of us. We only have one child but decided that we would take our DDs cousins (one each year) and the 20Ft TT with only two tiny beds was not going to work..

So, we decided that finding a TT with three beds was needed.. We DW and I decided that it would be nice to have a master bed room with queen bed that had a real wall..

We could not find anything under 30ft which had a separate bed room with queen bed.. I did not want to tow a 30ft TT, period.

So, I sat down and made my own plans, with a lot of creative ideas I was able to fit everything we wanted into a 26FT TT! DD got a overhead "bunk", here cousin gets a couch that makes a twin bed or can be pulled out to make a full size bed and DW and I have a queen bed..

We found an old water damaged 26Ft TT for next to nothing to rebuild as we wanted and the result is a trailer that fits us perfectly.

I have no cares to upsize any bigger, 26ft is plenty of overhang behind me to tow and plenty of trailer and stuff to setup and take down.. I mainly do the hookup, the towing, the setup and tear down so it is a lot of work.

When camping we don't spend any time inside the trailer during the day and since I was able to really open up the layout being inside does not feel closed in.
