I had 8000 lbs on my rear axle and would inflate the rear 245's to 110 psi. If I had 285's, I could have used the inflation tables and run a softer tire that still handled the weight. I did not want to add a lift plus I thought Vision rims were too narrow for wider tires, so stayed with my 14PR 245's. A side benefit for me was that my previous 18" rims and tires were the same diameter (although wider) and became my spare.
