Liquid fabric softener and black/gray tank smell
How much do I use in each tank and what brand?

If you are getting smell from the gray tank at any time something is wrong with the system.
If you are getting smell from the black tank other than when flushing the toilet something is wrong with your system.
Other than vents through the roof they are both closed systems.
I use H2O to soften the water (and other stuff) in my tanks.
