At that mpg (which could be optimistic), that's 150 gal. of gas. At say $3.5/gal, that's $525. Then you'll spend what, maybe $200, $300 or more on food? Then there's the wear and tear on your TV. Dollar wise, I would get it delivered.

I would consider gas prices before you really look at your savings, and food for the trip. Pulling trailer will be 10 mpg which is fine if you want to explore the area, but will eat away your savings over bought local.
But...
If you find things that need fixing when you get it home, that *could* be a problem. What are you doing for warranty work in the future?
As said, I think you want to be there to go over it with the dealer. You can find a good checklist on the internet. Download it and take it with you and go over it with a fine tooth comb. Take your time. Ask the dealer lots of questions and ask them specifically what they inspected. Did they remove wheels and drums and inspect anything for ex.? Did they properly test water and waste systems? Does the water heater work okay? Be prepared to leave it for an extra day just in case. I would camp a day or two nearby for a shakedown in case it needs to go back. How well do you know that dealer and do you trust them? There's good ones and some not so good ones....
Last TT we bought, the elec. tongue jack died within a few days. Didn't sound right from the beginning. It would not be good to have that sort of thing happen 1500 miles away from the dealer when you're back home.
I would go get it. Sounds like it could be a fun adventure. Don't let the dealer install the WDH. Make sure you have a torque wrench and anything else you need to install it.
