Can't say I check our Chevy Silverado 3/4 ton tow vehicle very often, just get oil changed with synthetic as indicated by driver display, it is only used for towing our 10K 33' TT and luckily doesn't burn oil. Our Chevy Express conversion van with 5.3 does indeed burn about a quart of oil between changes, I will check it during long trips once or twice just for peace of mind.
