Update:
Well it looks like my initial calculations were off a bit and we went to our truck dealer and got the actual tow and payload capacities for my truck. We a few hundred pounds to spare in payload (including tongue weight, passengers, cargo), and we have 1,750 pounds to spare after the trailer weight. So it is looking better and within legal and capable limits.
I am however thinking of installing the Timbren suspension stops in the rear to reduce truck sag. The Rams are notorious for this because of the coil springs.
I will try to keep updates coming but I appreciate any and all comments so far, many have helped.
