Looking at new entry level models

I'm with Grit Dog .... don't trust posted weights. Most are extreme base model weights and don't include the weight of many added "options". Our first foray into truck campers found the dry weight on a Cat scale on the way home from the dealer to be 625 lbs above the brochure advertised weight. I think some manufactures realized that the half ton market was largely untapped (several years ago) and simply posted lighter (or let's say, less realistic) weights as a means of attracting that lucrative demographic.
