The results by the car manufacturers are the same, play dumb, and bill Bosch for the failures.
The whole design has a capture and alignment issue, by design. Nothing to prevent the piston from rotating in the bore and destroying the alignment with the roller and cam, keeping them captured and in alignment like a roller rocker arm, or to prevent the piston from floating, like a connecting rod.
