Since the bathroom in Ms. Merry is undergoing a full overhaul, one of the things we want to do is move away from the plastic gutted RV plumbing fixtures.To this end, one of the things we're aiming yo do is put in a standard shower faucet separate from the sink faucet.We'd love some suggestions on brands/models that are fairly durable quality and have a fairly easy to defeat high temp guard (some of them just have a little ring under the knob with teeth that you can just remove).Also, if anyone knows who did the thread years ago that installed the same type of faucet on their camper bathroom, please let me know, so I can look it up.Thank you everyone:)

We have Oxygenics on our RV and in our stick house.

I felt in love with thermostatic valves years ago and this is what I am trying to use whenever I can.Here is modification I did in my camper bathI don't see a need for separate shower valve at this point since that would take very precious space under shower, but you can find all kind of thermostatic valves from the ebay seller.

I have a WaterPik brand shower head that has lasted over 10 years. It doesn't have a shutoff right below it but I'm sure some plumbing fittings would let you splice in a small ball valve in the supply line.

We replaced the stock shower head with the oxygenics. the fact that we have a stock water pump that pulsates due to low water flow does't help but the main gripe is that the shut off switch at the head leaks so bad that water continues to trickle through. When we turn it back on we get nothing but cold for a coupe seconds.

Yeah. This is what you put in public toilets where the downspout is motion-controlled.

Find me US outlet who has a selection of thermostatically-controlled valves?
The top-end outlets will have 1 or 2 on display with >500 price tag.
You want to buy affordable and good valve, you have to shop in China (via ebay)

I had a nice thread on my install of a Scandvik yacht fixture in the Bigfoot, sadly Photobucket took care of that. Scandvik makes small, very high quality fixtures suitable for this use. You can find them online at defender.com and other yacht suppliers.

Go to any good home plumbing supply outlet and get whatever you want. Cheap ones will be plastic, good ones will be brass. However, some of the plastic ones are better and will last longer than the brass ones.

I think the OP is wanting a faucet- not a shower head.

I have the Oxygenics shower head and although it works well, when taking navy showers, it does blast out cold water for a few seconds when going from off to on which is unacceptable. I've read about other complaints from the Oxygenics when doing this pausing during the shower cycle. I removed the Oxy shut off valve and replaced it with a positive s/o valve that was recommended from members on the Arctic Fox Discussion Group on Facebook.
I haven't tried it yet but will report on it next week when we get to try out the new valve.
