I meant to add to that....my initial plan of $6K puts that golden egg of a SUV somewhat out of reach. I'm fine with spending $8-10K, seen quite a few low mileage units (around 90-110K) for around $8-9K, some slightly higher.
If I did go with the 8.1 SUV, I surely would try to find a very well kept vehicle, not a beater.
